Fantasy Vocabulary

All 40+ Terms →
5x5

The classic roto categories — HR, R, RBI, SB, AVG for hitters; W, K, ERA, WHIP, SV for pitchers.

Roto (Rotisserie)

Season-long scoring. Ranked across every category. Sum your ranks, highest wins. No weekly matchups.

Two-Start Pitcher

An SP who's scheduled to pitch twice in a single fantasy week. Double K/W upside, double WHIP risk.

Quality Start (QS)

6+ IP and 3 or fewer earned runs. A pitching category that replaces W in many leagues for skill-based scoring.

Streaming SP

Picking up an SP short-term for a favorable matchup. Coors avoidance is required. Park factors matter.

Park Factor

How a ballpark inflates or suppresses stats. Coors hits 1.4x HR. Petco hits 0.8x HR. Drives every projection.

Built on Real Data

Every example, projection, and scenario in these chapters uses real MLB data from the 2024 and 2025 seasons. Player names, statistics, and outcomes are pulled from authoritative public sources and recalibrated against actual sportsbook markets.
